This comprehensive course will give you the skills needed to confidently assess and evaluate a horse's hoof care needs and trim to achieve natural hoof mechanics and function based on each horse's individual conformation and hoof shape. This course is ideal for someone interested in pursuing a career in hoof care, or for the individual interested in trimming their own horses. This course includes follow-up telephone and email consultations and advice. 

Textbooks are included with your tuition. 
Tools you should have for the in-class trimming  include: rasp, hoof knife, knife sharpener,  gloves and a hoof pick. Nippers, chaps and a hoof stand are NOT required.  You are welcome to bring your own tools if you have them; we will have tools and stands available for use and for sale as well.
It is recommended you wear steel toed shoes or work boots and jeans for the hands on trimming portion of class. 

Class schedule runs from 9am-5pm daily with a morning coffee break and a lunch break. Classes may run late depending on the amount of material to be covered.
